How to Help

There are numerous ways to become involved with The Haven of Grace. Volunteering is a great way to help the mothers and children who call The Haven home. Whatever your interest, we have a volunteer opportunity for you!

Babysitting The Haven of Grace volunteer reading to child
Help care for infants while their mothers attend class, plan structured activities for our toddlers and preschoolers, or get a group together and give respite during our monthly Mom’s Night Out. Babysitters typically needed between 10 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays – Thursdays from 6-8 p.m. and occasionally on weekends.

Cook Meals
Love to cook? Our residents have life skills classes from 10 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. on Mondays with little time in between to honor their regular cooking routine; you can help us keep the residents on schedule by preparing and serving our noontime meal. If Mondays don’t work, there are other opportunities for special holiday or “just because” meals.

Gardening, Grounds & “Honey Do” Tasks
Roll up your sleeves and help maintain The Haven’s gardens and grounds. Plant flowers, pull weeds, pick-up litter or help with odd end jobs like painting, spring cleaning or sorting and organizing donations.

Off-site Opportunities
You can also help The Haven by volunteering to host baby showers or diaper drives for us at work, school, church or with other membership organizations. Collect items that are necessities for The Haven's infants, toddlers and preschoolers and drop them off at the shelter.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the volunteer coordinator, Alison Zeller at azeller@havenofgracestl.org or (314) 621-6507.
