THE HAVEN OF GRACE IS HONORED AS BEST IN CLASS
Residents lead the way

ST. LOUIS (January 31, 2007)- The Haven of Grace, which serves young pregnant women ages 16-24 by providing a safe home, parenting skills and education so they graduate and become tax paying citizens, is named a model agency for their work with women and children in the St. Louis area by the Incarnate Word Foundation.

Diane Berry, Executive Director of The Haven of Grace, says "it's always an honor to be recognized for the work we do with the women, but the real honor is with the women who have made a conscience decision to change their lives and the lives of their children."

The Haven of Grace is one of the only agencies in the St. Louis area that has a 10-year Aftercare Program which offers a wide range of financial, educational and emotional support. This program provides women with daycare assistance, home visits by a full time nurse, rent and utility deposit assistance and scholarships for those who are continuing their vocational or college education.

The Haven of Grace, a ministry of faith, is a residential and aftercare program, providing a safe, nurturing and educational environment for homeless, pregnant women by focusing time and resources on mother and newborn as they become a family and begin to establish their life together in the community. Since 1988, The Haven of Grace has served over 500 women and their children. Currently, The Haven provides services for 270 women and their 454 children in its 10-year Aftercare program. Aftercare clients have also received 190 $500 scholarships since 1992.
