The Haven of grace hosts Whirl 'n twirl fundraising event at Palladium Saint Louis

ST. LOUIS (April 12, 2010) The Haven of Grace raised over $65,000 at the premiere of Whirl ‘n Twirl, a new spring fundraising event, Saturday evening at Palladium Saint Louis. Nearly 175 supporters attended the event and donated toward the cause of ending the cycle of homelessness in young, pregnant women and their children.

After beginning the event with a cocktail reception, two young women currently living at The Haven of Grace’s maternity shelter shared their stories and heartfelt gratitude with the Whirl ‘n Twirl guests. Arvelle and Company then kicked off the music, playing favorites from all genres for over two hours while guests danced and two human disco balls moved throughout the crowd.

“Whirl ‘n Twirl was truly a night of celebrating second chances,” said Event Chairperson Carrie Martin. “The two residents from The Haven of Grace spoke genuinely about their experiences and reminded the guests why we were all there. It was a fun, successful and beautiful evening, but most of all meaningful for the young mothers The Haven serves.”

The Haven of Grace, a ministry of faith, is a residential and aftercare program providing a safe nurturing and educational environment for homeless, pregnant women by focusing time and resources on mothers and children as they become families and establish their lives together in the community. Key to this endeavor is our belief in the power of hope and dignity of each person.
