Mom's day out: career development
The Haven's current and past residents attended Mom's Day Out, an educational reunion event, June 18 and June 25 at The Haven of Grace Maternity Shelter. The young women attended sessions focused on employment. They explored their career values and barriers, and also heard from a panel of local employment professionals. Each woman left with a coupon for the "Dress for Success" program and several tools to use in her job hunt. While the moms were busy, the children had fun with face painting and an obstacle course, led by volunteer babysitters.
