On Friday, April 28, The Haven will
hold its annual Pennies from Heaven fundraising gala
at the historic Coronado Hotel on Lindell Boulevard.
The old 1920’s hotel that once welcomed both Charles
Lindbergh and President Harry S. Truman has undergone
a 42 milliondollar restoration and will be the home
of this year’s event.
Co-chairs James and Caren Vredenburgh
and Jill Hunt as well as the many volunteers on the
Steering Committee have planned a wonderful evening,
from the unique ostrich plume centerpieces to the wonderful
music of the Yessir! Band, an eleven-piece ensemble.
“The menu is extremely creative and
not typical event food,” said co-chair Caren Vredenburgh.
“ The chef has put together a menu of unique and tasty
combinations to tantalize everyone's palate”.
“When you step into the lavish ballroom
at the Coronado you feel as if you could be stepping
back in time,” said co-chair Jill Hunt. “This magnificent
space lends itself beautifully to our theme of the Roaring
20’s which we hope will be a lot of fun.”
The evening will begin with cocktails
at 7 p.m., including a special drink, the “Pennytini”
created by the Coronado especially for Pennies from
Heaven. Next will be a delicious sit-down dinner followed
by dancing. New to the event this year, there will also
be a small silent auction of upscale items including
one-of-a kind jewelry and highly coveted St. Louis Cardinals
Baseball tickets.
Ticket prices begin at as little as
$125 for a single ticket. To purchase tickets, please

and visit the “Events” page. Checks should be made out
to The Haven of Grace and mailed to the facility at
1225 Warren Street / St. Louis, MO 63106. Credit cards
