THE QUADRANGLE PROJECT CAPITAL CAMPAIGN
UPDATE…
The Joy of Generosity and New Friends
The generosity of donors to the campaign
to build twelve apartments and create The Quadrangle
on the Campus of The Haven of Grace has exceeded all
expectations. As a Steering Committee, we stand in awe
of the generosity of donors.

The campaign became a public initiative
in July 2006. The goal was $2,600,000. A major factor
in the campaign was contact with new donors in response
to the stipulations in the motivational $160,000 match
challenge that was sponsored by Lee and Mike Moisio.
Between July and November, several functions were held:
Coffees, cocktail parties, Young Friends Committee wine-tasting,
and The Larry Forgione dinner and auction at An American
Place. Increased awareness of The Haven and the ministry
that it serves for women and children grew exponentially!
Added to the special events were mailings, newsletters,
newspaper articles, public relations stories, radio
and television spots, and active personal outreach by
Steering Committee members.
In summary, The Haven of Grace had another important
story to tell. It was told with passion to everyone
— at parties, in print, throughout the media, in carpool
lines, in churches, in coffee shops and a whole lot
more! The Haven of Grace may be in St. Louis, but as
if it were in London, it had its own “Hyde Park” pulpit
with a large contingent of enthusiastic speakers!
We are thankful to be able to illustrate the progress
to date and also share the remaining challenges that
we confront. Our goal is to target completion of the
fundraising initiative for late summer and break ground
for construction of the apartment complex no later than
September of this year.
“Make new friends but keep the old,
some are silver, the other’s gold.” We humbly celebrate
both silver and gold as we review the donor list to
the campaign thus far.
- New Donors (Silver)* 162
- Returning Friends: (Gold) 102
The donor numbers listed above
break down as follows:
- Commitments from Foundations — 17 (including 7 new
Foundations)
- Commitments from Corporations — 17 (including 11
new corporations)
- Commitments from individual donors — 269 (including
162 new donors,
102 prior Haven donors and 5 anonymous donors)
The financial status of the
campaign as of March 1, 2007 is as follows:
- Gifts and pledges received: $2,084,890
- Continuing need: $520,000
An inspirational new pledge that is not included in
the tabulations above motivates us further. On January
11, 2007, the Mabee Foundation pledged $200,000 to The
Quadrangle Project. That pledge will be fulfilled when
The Haven reaches $2.4 million in its journey to the
$2.6 million goal. In other words, the Mabee Foundation
gift will be the celebratory “icing on the cake” for
The Quadrangle Project on the Campus of The Haven of
Grace!
As we close this update, we ask that you boldly help
us with the remaining opportunity to be a part of this
campaign. What a privilege it is to be counted among
those who are making such a profound difference for
the women and children whose lives will be changed!
Please speak to your friends and colleagues. Please
feel comfortable sharing ideas with us about additional
donors. Remember, we are the “Hyde Park team” and we
have a marvelous story to tell!
THANK YOU. Your generous spirit and tangible
gifts to The Haven have written the story that is shared
in this article. Because of your involvement and the
additional involvement of others in the months ahead,
we are confident that the next and most important story
will be recorded in history for years to come on The
Campus of The Haven of Grace.

giving or firsttime donors to The Haven of Grace in
general.
