Success in Theory & Practice
 |
| Todd Brand |
A couple of years ago, while working
as a successful financial and retirement planner, Todd
Brand had a discussion with two clients who serve on
The Haven’s Board. In these discussions, the two men
would talk about all the good things The Haven was doing.
Ultimately, they invited him to the Pennies from Heaven
event, at the Butterfly House.
After experiencing a wonderful night
of introductions, dinner and dancing, Todd was approached
to serve on the Finance Committee. Once Todd came to
The Haven for a tour, he “was stunned by the quality
of the enterprise. Specifically, the discipline, order,
cleanliness, layout of the facility, program of education
and responsibilities.” When compared to other agencies
“it seemed successful both in theory and reality; and
I knew almost immediately that I wanted to play a role.”
What interested Todd in The Haven
of Grace were the statistics on successfully moving
women and kids from a nearly certain life of poverty
to a future they can be proud of. What Todd would like
to accomplish while serving on the board is “to see
financial strength continually build and ultimately
be maintained at both the organizational and individual
level.”
